Awana

Awana is a Bible Club whose goal is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve him.  Awana was started in Chicago, IL in 1950, and the ministry is now used all over the world to assist churches in reaching boys and girls with the gospel of Christ.  AWANA stands for Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed and comes from II Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Camp Creek Baptist Church started using the Awana ministry in February of 1989 for children from age 3 through sixth grade.  Today, clubs have been added all the way through high school.  Our clubs meet each Wednesday night from September through May from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM.  The Lord has blessed the ministry, and hundreds of children have come to know the Lord.
